The Salisbury Rowan Runners Winter Flight 8K, the 30th Annual Edition, was completed on January 26th following a 2 hour delay. Left over ice and sleet played havoc with the roads on race morning, and the forecasted sunny day never materialized. Lots of good work by City of Salisbury street crews, as well as the Salisbury PD and SRR volunteers made for a good day. It was a very popular decision among participants to go ahead with the race, and not force a postponement till a later date. About 250 registered, though a large group could not make it to the race. There was virtually no race day registration. For those who couldn't make it, SRR gave free entry as one option into another race as one option, and free mailing of race shirts as another option. Everybody seemed happy, both from the club and the participants. It was certainly a challenging day with all coming out well in the end.
